Ryan D. Foster, PhD, LPC-S, CHST
Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am seeing clients via telehealth only.
I’ve been trained in counseling clients across the lifespan, including adults and children. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S; #63186) in Texas and a Certified Humanistic Sandtray Therapist (CHST). I have provided counseling services at my private practice, in community agencies, in elementary schools, and in college counseling centers since 2006. I have also served as director of a nonprofit community counseling agency and a college counseling center.
A Gestalt therapist, I am passionate about providing a safe place for clients to activate their own natural creativity through traditional talk therapy as well as through dreamwork, sandtray therapy, and play therapy. Additionally, I have specialized training in working with people who have had significant grief and loss experiences. I have been trained in the Gremlin-Taming® Method by Rick Carson.
I also provide clinical supervision for LPC Interns in Texas as well as individual and group training in Gestalt counseling.
In addition to my counseling practice, I am an associate professor of counseling at Tarleton State University in Fort Worth, TX and am an active researcher in the areas of near-death experiences, ethics in counseling, grief and loss, and humanistic sandtray therapy.
